Lahore – Chicken Prices Record Major Increase in Lahore, now reaching an unprecedented Rs630 per kilogram. This sharp increase has caused considerable distress among residents and posed significant challenges for local shopkeepers.

Previously, chicken was an affordable staple for many, but recent fluctuations have pushed its price to levels comparable with mutton and beef. Just a few months ago, prices were around Rs350 per kilogram, but the recent spike has made chicken increasingly inaccessible to the average consumer, especially affecting the salaried class.

The sharp rise in prices is attributed to several factors, including escalating inflation and increased costs of feed. This has led to higher prices for chicks and, consequently, a surge in the cost of chicken. The erratic pricing has created difficulties for shopkeepers, who now face reduced sales and challenges in negotiating with poultry farm agents.

Residents of Lahore have voiced their frustration, criticizing both state and government authorities for their lack of effective measures to control the price hike. Many people are urging the government to address the issue by implementing policies to stabilize the prices of essential food items, including chicken, to ease the financial burden on consumers.

Shopkeepers are similarly troubled by the situation. The unpredictable nature of chicken prices complicates their business operations and affects their ability to maintain steady sales. The market’s volatility underscores the urgent need for government intervention to ensure fair pricing and stabilize the poultry sector.

As the cost of living continues to rise, the public’s call for immediate action from authorities remains strong. The hope is that steps will be taken to manage inflationary pressures and provide relief to those struggling with the high cost of essential food items.
