One of the two venues for the ongoing Asia Cup 2022 in the United Arab Emirates, Sharjah Cricket Stadium, has broken the record for holding the most international games.
After hosting the T20 Asia Cup match between Afghanistan and Sri Lanka on Saturday, it won the title. A total of 281 games, including 9 Tests, 244 ODIs, and 28 T20Is, have taken place in Sharjah.
The Sydney Cricket Ground held the honor in the past. The most ODI games have been played in Sharjah Stadium worldwide.
Abdul Rahman Bukhatir, a supporter of Emirati cricket, described it as a happy moment for the nation. Additionally, he praised the fans who had been cheering for the team at Sharjah Cricket Stadium for the previous 40 years.
