Minister for tourism Nasir Ali Khan announced while speaking with media officials about the development in the region. According to reports, the SCO has unveiled the world’s fastest internet service by erecting a cell phone tower at the base of K2, the world’s second highest point.
The tower’s installation will improve access to internet services in the region. This includes internet networks that use 4G technology. The government of Gilgit-Baltistan has offered special assistance to the SCO in the construction of the tower, which will ensure contact at the K2 base camp. It will aid in the promotion of adventure tourism.
Earlier, travelers and mountaineers had to rely on satellite phones to communicate with the base camp previously. Because of the harsh weather conditions in the winter, climbers had a hard time communicating with one another.
