PTI-PML-Q merger: Chaudhry Shujaat suspends party membership of Pervaiz Elahi

 Pakistan Muslim League Quaid President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain has suspended the basic party membership of Pervaiz Elahi ahead of the expected merger of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and PML-Q.

Responding to reports of the expected merger of the PTI and PML-Q, PML-Q President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain removed Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Pervaiz Elahi's basic party membership.

Pervaiz Elahi received a show-cause notice, and the PML-Q president requested a response from him within a week.

Pervaiz Elahi, the chief minister of Punjab, called a meeting of the PML-Q earlier in the day to discuss the merger proposal made by Imran Khan, the leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
