Due to the intensive third wave of coronavirus and surge in infections, all PSL franchises have asked the PCB to shift the remaining matches of 2021 season of the tournament from Karachi to the UAE. Pakistan is currently under the grip of the third wave with infections rising on daily basis.
The current COVID-19 situation has made franchises nervous about the possibility to play matches in the country.
According to Espncric.info, the plan is for the teams to assemble in Karachi by May 23 to begin their mandatory seven-day quarantine, and action is scheduled to resume on June 2.
