Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Doha on Thursday with a high-level delegation to express Pakistan’s solidarity with Qatar following Israel’s recent airstrikes on residential areas in the Qatari capital.

According to the Foreign Office, the prime minister is accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Information Minister Atta Tarar, Special Assistant to the PM Tariq Fatemi, and Defense Minister Khawaja Asif.

The visit is described as a strong gesture of support, reaffirming Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to Qatar’s security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. During his stay, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will meet with Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani to personally convey Pakistan’s sympathies and backing for the Qatari leadership and people.

The Israeli airstrike in Doha, which targeted Hamas officials, resulted in the deaths of at least seven people and has drawn widespread condemnation across the Arab world.

Qatar’s Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani strongly denounced the attack, calling it “reckless” and warning that it endangered the stability and security of the Gulf region. “There is a response that will happen from the region. This response is currently under consultation and discussion with other partners,” he said.

He also accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of dragging the entire region into “chaos,” stressing the urgent need for a collective response to such actions.

Pakistan’s latest move highlights its proactive diplomatic efforts to stand by Muslim countries during times of crisis, particularly in the face of escalating tensions in the Middle East.
