The Pakistan Cricket Board has concluded negotiations with Daraz, Pakistan’s biggest online marketplace, for exclusive live streaming rights in the Pakistan area for the 2021-22 home season.

The 2017 cricket season is likely to be one of the busiest in Pakistan’s history, with white-ball series trips from New Zealand, England (men’s and women’s), and the West Indies, followed by a complete tour by Australia.

Daraz will have an exclusive streaming live access for the whole bilateral international cricket season, which begins on Friday, September 17 with the first ODI between Pakistan and New Zealand at the Pindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi.

As part of the agreement, Daraz users will be able to watch the live broadcast for free on the platform’s recently introduced “DarazLive” — a live streaming feature that is totally ad-free.

Daraz believes in giving added value to its consumers through constant tech-backed innovation, and to that end, the company focuses heavily on the phenomenon of In-App shoppertainment, which allows users to receive a full amusement sensation from the convenience of their houses.

Wasim Khan, CEO of PCB, stated, “I am delighted to welcome Daraz as our official live streaming partner for the Pakistan area.” Cricket is Pakistan’s most popular sport, and we want to make it more accessible to our fans. Our Commercial Team has prioritized digital expansion, and this live streaming collaboration is a significant accomplishment for us as a company.

“I am certain that our collaboration with Daraz will become larger and better in accordance with our strategic goal of taking a futuristic approach to value addition and addressing changing habits and demands of our fans, particularly the youth.”

Ammar Hassan, Daraz’s Chief Marketing Officer, expressed his excitement, saying, “We are extremely proud to partner with PCB for exclusive digital broadcasting rights for Pakistan cricket home series until March 2022.” Daraz users will be able to watch the live digital broadcast free of charge and ad-free while also taking advantage of some great shopping deals during the matches. Live commerce is the next big thing, and we want to introduce it to Pakistan.”

With this collaboration, PCB and Daraz seek to transform Pakistan’s cricket and entertainment landscapes and provide consumers with simple access to the country’s most popular sport.
