Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif recently held a meeting with National and Provincial Assembly members from Mianwali to discuss the province’s ongoing development efforts, law and order, and public service programs.
Meeting with Mianwali Lawmakers
The delegation included Ali Haider Noor Khan, Obaidullah Shadikhel, Amanatullah Khan Shadikel, Adeel Abdullah Khan Rokhri, Malik Feroz Joiya, and Malik Sajjad Khan Bhachar. During the discussion, the lawmakers expressed appreciation for initiatives such as stipends for imams and the provision of free medicines at all government hospitals throughout Punjab.
Key Development Initiatives
Maryam Nawaz outlined several major projects underway, including the extension of cardiology services from Sargodha to Mianwali and the launch of significant development schemes in less developed districts. She also emphasized efforts to accelerate public service delivery across the province.
Suthra Punjab Program
The Chief Minister highlighted the Suthra Punjab Program, an ambitious waste management initiative aimed at becoming the largest of its kind globally.
Electro-Buses and Urban Beautification
The assembly members praised the introduction of the first public transport electro-buses in Mianwali, describing them as a transformative development for the local community. They also commended the beautification projects and the Suthra Punjab efforts, which have notably improved the city’s appearance.
Commitment to Inclusive Development
Maryam Nawaz reaffirmed her dedication to expediting public service improvements and ensuring that development projects reach even the smaller districts of Punjab. She underlined that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) remains committed to delivering tangible progress for the province.
