Nobel Prize winner Malala Yousafzai has arrived in Pakistan today, visiting her home country after four years.

Malal is visiting second time to Pakistan since she survived an attack in Swat in 2012, which necessitated her departure to the UK for medical treatment. She last visited Pakistan in March 2018.

Yousafzai, who has been actively working for girls’ education, is in Pakistan as the country reels from devastating floods that have left 1,700 dead and displaced nearly eight million people, according to the latest estimates.

The Malala Fund, a non-profit organisation co-founded by Yousafzai in 2013 to work for girls’ education, recently issued an emergency relief grant to the International Rescue Committee (IRC) to support flood relief efforts and “protect the wellbeing of girls and young women in Pakistan”.
