No Passport Fee Relief in Sight as Government Rules Out Reduction

Pakistan's Interior Ministry tells the Senate there are no plans to reduce passport fees, keeping the existing fee structure in place.
The federal government has no plans to reduce passport fees, the Ministry of Interior has informed the Senate.
The ministry stated that the existing passport fee structure will remain in place, with no immediate proposal to provide applicants with a reduction.
Existing Fee Structure to Continue
The decision means citizens applying for new passports or renewing their documents will continue to pay the applicable charges.
Passport fees vary according to the document's validity period, number of pages and processing category, including normal and urgent services.
The government has also been working to modernise passport services through the introduction of e-passports and digital application facilities.
Applicants are advised to check the official fee schedule before submitting their applications to avoid confusion over charges.
