Lahore Qalandars and Peshawar Zalmi have officially renewed their Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise rights for the next ten years, confirming their long-term commitment to the league following the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) new offer. Independent valuations conducted by EY MENA ranked Lahore Qalandars as the most valuable franchise in PSL, taking into account their on-field success and organisational strength. Over the past four seasons, the Qalandars have won three PSL titles, cementing their reputation as one of the league’s strongest teams.
To celebrate their 10th anniversary, Lahore Qalandars hosted a “Decade of Glory” event in Islamabad, which featured a trophy showcase, receptions with local and international guests, and participation from Zimbabwe Cricket’s Managing Director Givemore Makoni, Zimbabwe’s national team, and Sri Lankan stars Bhanuka Rajapaksa and Kusal Perera. The celebrations highlighted the franchise’s global partnerships and ongoing collaborations with Zimbabwe Cricket, including opportunities for Pakistani players in Zimbabwe’s domestic circuit.
A major announcement at the event was the establishment of a Lahore Qalandars High Performance Centre in Islamabad in partnership with Capital Smart City, developed by Zahid Rafiq Group. This will be the franchise’s third facility, alongside those in Lahore and Karachi, and will focus on youth development programs, strengthening Pakistan’s talent pipeline, and nurturing future stars.
Peshawar Zalmi also confirmed its 10-year franchise renewal, with Chairman Javed Afridi stating that the extension reflects the team’s ambition for sustained success, global expansion, and continued focus on player development and fan engagement.
The franchise renewals mark a significant milestone for PSL, promising financial stability, stronger youth pathways, enhanced international visibility, and a decade-long foundation for growth in Pakistan’s premier T20 league.
