The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has announced an upcoming auction of special vehicle number plates that bear the names of prominent Pakistani political leaders. This initiative includes plates named after figures such as Imran Khan, President Asif Ali Zardari, former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, and others.

Auction Details and Featured Names

Provincial Minister for Excise and Taxation, Syed Fakhar Jehan, confirmed that the auction will also feature number plates with names of Pakistan Peoples Party founder Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. The first phase of the auction is scheduled for January 27 at Nishtar Hall in Peshawar.

Among the highlighted plates for the initial auction are “Imran Khan-804” and “Imran Khan-1”. Plates with names of other political leaders will be auctioned in subsequent phases.

Additional Number Plates and Application Process

Alongside political names, the Excise and Taxation Department has announced that number plates representing various tribal and caste names such as Afridi, Gandapur, Durrani, Kundi, Yousufzai, Mahsood, and Khattak will also be available for bidding on the same date.

Interested applicants can submit their bids through the Dastak app, with the deadline for applications set for January 26, 2026.

Starting Bids and Public Interest

The auction will start with a minimum bid of Rs 1 million. The highest bidder will secure the number plate featuring the name of their chosen political figure. Minister Fakhar Jehan noted that vehicle owners have shown strong enthusiasm for this initiative, which is expected to generate substantial revenue for the national treasury.
