Govt wants to strengthen Election Commission of Pakistan

The Information Minister said that the PTI Government wants to strengthen the Election Commission of Pakistan. He said funding issues of political parties should be presented before the public.

Information Minister Chaudhry Fawad Hussain has said the Prime Minister Imran Khan wants to solve issues of Balochistan on priority basis.

Addressing a news conference in Lahore along Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting, Farrukh Habib, Information Minister said that the Prime Minister has taken notice of demands of hard working fishermen of Gwadar and has directed to take strict action against illegal fishing.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister of State, Farrukh Habib said financial accounts of all political parties should be disclosed before the public simultaneously.

He said that PTI has already provided its party funds details to the Election Commission, while PML(N) and PPP have not done that so far.

He said that the Supreme Court of Pakistan has already directed the Election Commision to ensure scrutiny of all political parties.

He expressed amazement why such a delay is being caused regarding implementation on apex court’ orders.
