Google Introduces Google Wallet in Pakistan

Google has officially launched Google Wallet in Pakistan, enhancing the digital payments ecosystem with contactless payments, online transactions, and in-app purchases. The service integrates with local banks, allowing users to make secure and convenient transactions.

How to Set Up Google Wallet in Pakistan

Setting up Google Wallet is a simple process:

  1. Download the Google Wallet app from the Google Play Store.
  2. If you have a linked debit or credit card, it will automatically appear in your wallet.
  3. Tap “Add a card” to manually add a new card.
  4. Verify your card through the bank’s tokenization process.
  5. Once added, use your phone for contactless and online payments at supported merchants.

Currently, Google Wallet supports the following banks and financial institutions:

  • Bank AlFalah (Visa & Mastercard – debit/credit)
  • Bank of Punjab (Mastercard – credit)
  • Faysal Bank Noor (Mastercard – debit)
  • HBL (Visa & Mastercard – debit/credit)
  • JazzCash (Mastercard – debit)
  • Meezan Bank (Visa & Mastercard – debit)
  • UBL (Visa & Mastercard – debit)

Where Can You Use Google Wallet in Pakistan?

Google Wallet can be used for various transactions, including:

  • Online Retailers: Onic, Gul Ahmed, Sana Safinaz, J., KE (via PayFast)
  • Airlines: Batik Air, Thai Airways (for digital boarding passes)
  • Merchants: Expanding through Safepay’s platform for contactless in-store payments

With upcoming integrations, more banks and merchants will join Google Wallet, making digital payments in Pakistan safer, easier, and more accessible.
