Petrol Rs391.22, Diesel Rs421.45 — New Prices Effective September 17, 2026
OGRA raises petrol by Rs6.88 and diesel by Rs5.62 for a single day, as global oil prices continue climbing amid Middle East tensions.

Petrol rises to Rs391.22 and diesel to Rs421.45 per litre effective September 17, 2026, as the government's Rs100/litre relief scheme rolls out via pmfuelrelief.pk.
Petrol has been raised by Rs6.88 per litre to Rs391.22, while high-speed diesel rose by Rs5.62 to Rs421.45, effective September 17, 2026, according to a Petroleum Division notification citing elevated international crude oil prices. The one-day adjustment reflects Pakistan's daily pricing mechanism, which tracks global market movements in near real-time.
Relief Scheme Rolling Out Alongside the Hike
This increase lands just as PM Shehbaz Sharif's Rs100/litre relief scheme takes effect — covering up to 20 litres monthly for motorcycles, rickshaws, and Qingqis, and 30 litres for vehicles up to 800cc. The scheme launched in Islamabad and extended nationwide, including AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan, from the night of September 16-17.
How to Get the Relief
To register, send an SMS in this format to 9771: REG <CNIC> <Vehicle Registration Number> <Province Code> <Registration Date> (date format: DDMMYYYY). Before visiting a pump, send TOK to 9771 to get your token, then show it to the attendant to get petrol at Rs100/litre less. Full details, eligibility, and support are available on the official government portal: pmfuelrelief.pk
The Bottom Line
With diesel already past Rs420 and petrol just Rs8.78 short of the Rs400 mark, the timing couldn't be more pointed — the government is raising prices with one hand while rolling out targeted relief with the other, betting the subsidy reaches those who need it most before the next hike lands.
