Major General Nigar Johar made history last year by being the first female officer to be elevated to the rank of lieutenant general, owing to her outstanding performance in several leadership and administrative responsibilities.
A series celebrating her accomplishments is currently in the works, with actress Mahira Khan playing the lead. Bilal Ashraf, Mahira’s Superstar co-star, will also play an important part in the drama serial penned by Umera Ahmed and directed by Motorcycle Girl renowned filmmaker Adnan Sarwar. Lt Gen Nigar has also received the Prime Minister’s Tamgha-e-Imtiaz (Military) and Fatima Jinnah Gold Medal for her outstanding service in the Army Medical Corps.
