According to Sindh Minister for Information Sharjeel Inam Memon, a Chinese company has agreed to establish Pakistan’s first intra-city bus manufacturing facility in Karachi, opening the door for the country to buy buses at lower prices.

Today, Sharjeel Memon met with the bus company’s country manager, and it was decided that an 18-acre property would be used for a manufacturing plant that would open in 20 months and produce 500 buses annually.

Our first objective is to establish a manufacturing facility for public transportation, so we wanted to start the project as soon as possible, Memon stated.

Later, in a message from his Twitter, Sharjeel Memon said that he had a detailed meeting with a leading Chinese bus manufacturing company and they have agreed to start Pakistan’s first Intra city Bus manufacturing plant in Karachi.
