Babar Azam steps down as captain from all formats

On Wednesday, Babar Azam officially declared his resignation as the captain of the national cricket team across all formats, bringing an end to his extended tenure in the leadership role.

This decision comes in the aftermath of a disappointing World Cup campaign, during which the team faced severe criticism. Babar Azam had been facing scrutiny for several months, starting with the underwhelming performance in the Asia Cup and carrying on into the World Cup, where Pakistan's journey came to an abrupt halt before reaching the semifinals.
