American Airline Wants to Start Flight Operations in Pakistan

An American airline has expressed interest in commencing flight operations in Pakistan and has approached the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) for the necessary permissions.
Ravn Alaska Airlines is reportedly seeking a Third Country Operator License from the CAA to launch flights from Pakistan. Meanwhile, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is grappling with challenges in resuming flights to the United Kingdom.
Facing financial difficulties, PIA has grounded aircraft, and the government is considering privatization as a solution. Recently, the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) approved a Rs. 8 billion bridge financing package for PIA, utilizing resources from the CAA to address urgent payment obligations. The ECC also sanctioned a bilateral arrangement between the CAA and PIA.
