10 Key Points of PM Imran Khan visit to China

Prime Minister Imran Khan recently visited China on invitation to the Beijing Winter Olympics 2022. Here are 10 key points of Prime Minister Imran Khan visit to China.

1. Pak-China Relationship

The visit of PM Imran Khan to China reiterated the mutual trust and Iron brotherhood between nations of Pak-China.

2. Beijing Winter Olympics 2022

PM Imran Khan also appreciated the Chinese government’s excellent and and meticulous arrangements for Beijing Winter Olympics.

3. Issue of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir

Moreover, Pakistan side briefed about the concerns and developments in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Furthermore, Chinese side reiterated that Kashmir dispute should be solved based on UN charter and bilateral agreements. China also opposes any unilateral actions that complicate the situation.

4. China visit to Pakistan

Furthermore, Prime Minister Imran khan invited President Xi to visit Pakistan and both sides are committed to facilitating the visit.

5. China’s Belt And Road Initiative

Moreover, Prime Minister appreciated the Belt and Road initiative and emphasized that CPEC has contributed immensely towards socio-economic development of Pakistan and it’s in line with Pakistan’s shift towards Geo-economics.

6. Launch of Pak-China Health, Trade, and Digital Corridors

Both sides also agreed to have close bilateral cooperation in areas of health, environment and ICT by launching Pak-China health, trade, and digital corridors.

7. Gwadar Low-Carbon Circular Industry Zone

According to the “1+ 4” layout, both sides agreed to accelerate the construction and operation of Gwadar Port and build Gwadar low-carbon circular industry zone. They agreed to build high quality projects for development of Gwadar city and its residents.

8. Security of CPEC

Both sides also expressed strong determination to safeguard CPEC from all threats and negative propaganda. Further, Pakistan assured making all efforts to provide security to Chinese projects, personnel, and institutions in Pakistan.

9. Issue of Return of Pakistani Students to China

Moreover, China will ensure the return of Pakistani students to China and resume classes in a way that safety against Covid-19 is ensured.

10. Extension of CPEC to Afghanistan

Both sides also observed that CPEC is essential for regional peace and prosperity as it enhances connectivity in the region. Both sides are ready to discuss with Afghanistan the extension of CPEC to Afghanistan. PM Imran also reiterated support for President Xi Jinping’s Global development initiative that promotes implementation of UN’s agenda on sustainable development.
