Steps to combat Climate Change

Pakistan’s continuous efforts and initiatives of large-scale afforestation, biodiversity conservation, investment in clean energy, electric vehicles and green jobs to combat climate change impacts have earned the country worldwide acclaim. Detailing some of the key green projects are 10 Billion Tree Tsunami Program, Clean Green Pakistan Initiative, Clean Green Pakistan Index, Protected Areas Initiative (15 new national parks), Ecosystem Restoration Fund for facilitating green growth and policies consistent with the objectives of Pakistan’s Nationally Determined Contribution and attaining Land Degradation Neutrality.

These initiatives have been taken to prevent and to be better prepared for the threat of climate change experienced by the country such as floods, heat waves, droughts and melting glaciers.

Pakistan’s goodwill gesture in Abhinandan episode bag international acknowledgement

Prime Minister Imran Khan’s announcement of the release of Indian Air Force Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman was a graceful gesture. To be churlish about Abhinandan being released for what Khan states he is being released for – “as a gesture of peace” – is to only suggest that one doesn’t want Abhinandan’s release, something that only jingoistic war-war jaw-jawers in Pakistan would want. So first thing’s first: thank you, Pakistan.

Here are some global appreciations for prime minister Imran for releasing Abhinandan for the gesture of peace.

With growing confidence of the investors Pakistan’s economic resilience and ease of doing business is also being praised worldwide.

Here are few appreciations for economic recovery that Pakistan gained in the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
