Shaheen Shah Afridi, a star pacer, expressed confidence in Pakistan’s ability to win the World Cup 2023 and Asia Cup 2023 after becoming the top ODI team with their fourth win against New Zealand in the five-match series.

Afridi expressed hope that Pakistan would perform well in the two mega tournaments and reach the finals. He stated that winning the ODI matches is crucial and that they would win the World Cup and Asia Cup finals this time.

According to Afridi, a lower net run rate at the beginning could impact the match result at the end, but it wouldn’t pose any difficulty if the team plays top-notch cricket from the start.

Afridi also believed that the conditions in India would not be much different from those in Pakistan, and the team would try to take advantage of them during the World Cup to lead Pakistan to victory in the final.

Regarding his individual performance, Afridi stated that he always tries to give his best to the team and hopes to exhibit good performance in all three departments – bowling, batting, and fielding.

According to him, attacking the opponent is his job whether it is the first, second, or last over. Despite undergoing a prolonged injury rehabilitation phase, Afridi stated that he now feels quite fit. He acknowledged that injuries are a part of any sportsman’s career and stressed that he learned a lot during his time off. Finally, Afridi expressed his resolve to continue his performing streak for Pakistan.
