In the midst of the current judiciary-executive squabble, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has encouraged Pakistanis to come out of their houses today (Saturday) to demonstrate their support for the Constitution and Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Umar Ata Bandial.

“I am urging people to come out between 5.30 pm and 6.30 pm today to show their solidarity with our Constitution and the CJP,” the former premier posted on Twitter.

The PTI chairman said that the party would host four simultaneous rallies on Saturday evening in Lahore, Rawalpindi, Islamabad, and Peshawar. Imran stated that he would lead the Lahore rally (from Zaman Park to Lakshmi Chowk).

He stated that the country is at a critical juncture in its history. “Today, Pakistan is experiencing record inflation and unemployment, and a mafia is taking advantage of the situation.” The incumbent government is terrified of losing the elections.”

Imran Khan accused the government of purposefully attempting to demolish the Constitution and the Supreme Court (SC). “A mafia is spreading propaganda against the CJP and Supreme Court judges.” I am asking the nation to come out on Saturday evening to demonstrate their support for the CJP.”

“I made every effort to hold elections prior to the formation of a new government.” The constitution also requires elections to be held within 90 days of the assembly’s dissolution. 15 Supreme Court (SC) judges have also expressed their desire to have polls within 90 days, but the caretaker government is unwilling to organize polls.”

PTI chief Imran Khan said that elections are the only way out of the country’s problems.

Section 144 imposed in Lahore

The Islamabad Capital Police have issued a notification prohibiting rallies in the federal capital.

Section 144 prohibits gatherings of more than four individuals in one place for demonstrations and protests, as well as the carrying of weapons.

The capital police spokeswoman issued a statement warning of legal action against rallies held without authorization. “Citizens may face difficulties due to road closures tomorrow,” the police stated, asking citizens to seek route information before traveling.
