Pakistan opener Sahibzada Farhan and women’s team captain Fatima Sana have been nominated for the ICC Player of the Month award for February 2026 following their outstanding performances in international cricket.
Farhan enjoyed an exceptional run during the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, finishing as the tournament’s highest run-scorer. The right-handed opener set a new record for the most runs in a single edition of the tournament, surpassing the previous mark of 319 runs set by Virat Kohli during the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2014.
The Pakistani batter amassed 383 runs at an impressive strike rate of 160.25, while maintaining an average of 76.60. Farhan also became the first player to score two centuries in a single edition of the Men’s T20 World Cup, achieving the milestone with remarkable knocks against Namibia and Sri Lanka.
His strong performances played a key role in helping Pakistan national cricket team reach the Super 8 stage of the tournament, where the team narrowly missed out on qualifying for the semi-finals.
Meanwhile, Fatima Sana delivered a series of impressive all-round performances during Pakistan women’s tour of South Africa, despite her team losing both the ODI and T20I series 2-1.
Her standout performance came in the first T20I, where she scored a brilliant 90 runs. She followed it up with an unbeaten 47 and bowling figures of 2 for 12 in the third match, earning the Player of the Match award.
Sana also made valuable contributions in the ODI series, scoring a crucial 52 runs and taking two important wickets in the second match. Across the tour, she claimed four wickets in the ODIs and two in the T20Is, underlining her impact as an all-rounder.
In the men’s category, England’s Will Jacks is also among the nominees after playing a key role in helping England cricket team reach the semi-finals of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026.
The 27-year-old scored 194 runs at a strike rate of 173.21 and picked up 11 wickets with an economy rate slightly above eight. His impressive performances earned him four Player of the Match awards, the highest by any player in a single edition of the tournament.
Jacks delivered crucial performances during the Super 8 stage against Sri Lanka and New Zealand, helping England finish top of Group 2.
Another nominee is Rusty Theron van Schalkwyk from the United States national cricket team, who impressed with the ball throughout the competition.
The right-arm pacer claimed 13 wickets during the tournament and made an immediate impact in USA’s opening match against India, where he picked up four wickets. He later delivered identical figures of 4/25 against Pakistan in the group stage.
Van Schalkwyk also maintained an impressive economy rate of 7.76, highlighting his consistency and effectiveness throughout the campaign.
