Shafiqa Iqbal Data Engineer from Sadiqabad, Punjab Hired by Google at the age 24

Shafiqa was born in Sadiqabad and graduated from Punjab University. Shafiqa Iqbal, who is a Pakistani Wonder Woman, a Global Ambassador of women tech network, Big Data Engineer at Google and a top-rated seller at Upwork. Not only that, but she is also skilled in cloud solutions, backend development, database migrations and development, ETL pipelines, and logical programming. She designed distributed and scalable solutions for companies around the globe.

She had almost 2.5 years of experience before Google reached out to her from LinkedIn. The interview process started and hired her from LinkedIn. Shafiqa was working as a data engineer which is a thriving field, and was contributing to open sourced tasks such as writing blogs on data engineering.

As per Shafiqa, companies like Google and Facebook appreciate the open source work. Furthermore, she wanted to become self-sufficient hence, she chose the field and worked her way through to find herself in a top-notch company such as Google.

Shafiqa Iqbal from Sadiqabad working in Lahore as Data Engineer was hired by Google via Linkedin at the age 24. She is working at the Google Office in Warsaw, Poland. She is the only Pakistani out of 1300 employees working at the Google Office in Warsaw.

Interview Process

The internet was down during her final interview with Google, she explained during the interview when the interview was asking her questions during the closing remarks, the meeting blacked out due to internet connectivity. The interviewer didn’t mind the issue and said any talent should not undermine themselves.

Shafiqa was a speaker at the DevFest 2021 Day 2.
