Rebranding of Pakistan Currency: Report Rejected by SBP

The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) rejected reports circulating on social media that rebranding of Pakistan currency notes is underway, State Bank of Pakistan says no such proposal was under consideration.

“Some fake news regarding rebranding of Pakistan currency notes is circulating on social media. State Bank of Pakistan categorically denies the news and clarifies that no such proposal is under consideration at the moment,” the State bank of Paksitan said in a tweet.

The State Bank of Pakistan had last redesigned a currency note more than a decade ago. The new Pakistan currenct Pkr500 bill — which was smaller in size — was introduced on January 25, 2010 by state bank of Paksitan.

The state bank of Pakistan Introduced the new Pakistan Currency Pkr1,000 note in February 2007, the new Pakistan Currenct Pkr5,000 note in May 2006 and the new Pakistan currency Pkr100 note in November of the 2006 year.

The new Pakistan currency Pkr50 notes was introduced in July 2008, Pakistan currency Pkr20 notes in March 2008, and Pakistan currency Pkr10 notes in May 2006.
