PSL-8 security: Cabinet green-lights deployment of Army, Rangers personnel

The federal cabinet on Monday approved the deployment of Pakistan Army and Rangers personnel for the security of PSL season 8.

The Interior Ministry’s report was authorized for distribution by the federal cabinet. The decision was made after requests for the deployment of Army and Rangers forces for security during PSL-8 matches came from the governments of Punjab, Sindh, and Islamabad.

Additionally, the Pakistan Cricket Board has sent the interior ministry a letter.

It needs to be noted that the Pakistan Super League (PSL) is back for another exciting season to enthrall cricket fans.

The curtain-raiser between the defending champion Lahore Qalandars and Multan Sultans will precede the official start of PSL season 8 on February 13 in Multan.

The Kings, on the other hand, will face the Babar Azam-led Peshawar Zalmi in their first game on February 14 at the National Bank Cricket Arena in Karachi.
