Imran Khan, the prime minister of Pakistan said that the government’s foremost priority is to protect the common man from the effects of global level price-hike. The statement was made, while presiding over a high-level meeting in Islamabad, regarding the economic situation of the country. The meeting also included the global phenomenon of rising essential goods.

The global price-hike crisis caused by the global COVID-19 pandemic, the government accords the priority to public relied on amidst the current situation. Furthermore, the discussion was made of surpassing 100$ price per barrel of crude oil in the international market.

This was the result of the current conflicts in the region. Similarly, the prices of gas have also observed a 3 to 5 times increase. Furthermore, the prices of edibles also observed an increase, specifically palm oil.
