Pakistan Navy ships PNS Hunain and PNS Yarmook have seized more than 2,800 kilograms of narcotics during a joint counter-narcotics operation in the Arabian Sea, according to ISPR. The seized narcotics are estimated to be worth approximately $750 million.
How the Operation Unfolded
According to ISPR, the Navy ships were conducting a routine patrol when they intercepted a suspicious boat. A boarding operation followed, leading to the recovery of the narcotics concealed in hidden compartments of the vessel.
Leadership Reaction
Naval Chief Admiral Naveed Ashraf commended the officers and personnel involved, reiterating the Navy's commitment to maritime security. President Asif Zardari paid tribute to the crews of both ships, while PM Shehbaz Sharif and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also praised the operation, with Naqvi saying: "I pay tribute to the entire team that participated in the operation."
