Pakistan Temporarily Closes Air Routes Amid Military Exercises, Flight Delays Expected

Authorities in Pakistan have announced temporary closures of specific air routes within the Lahore and Karachi Flight Information Regions (FIRs) due to regional security concerns. These restrictions will be implemented at various times on January 14 and 15.

Military Exercises and Closure of Air Routes

The Pakistan Air Force has been placed on high alert and is conducting military exercises in designated areas. Consequently, Air Routes within the affected FIRs will be closely monitored throughout the period of restrictions.

Flight Operations and Safety Measures

  • Military exercises are scheduled daily from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm.
  • Commercial pilots are advised to use alternate routes to maintain flight safety.
  • Passengers are encouraged to verify their flight schedules ahead of travel.
  • Delays or cancellations may occur due to the temporary airspace limitations.

These measures are intended to ensure the safety of both military and civilian air traffic during the exercise period.
