Pakistan, China Sign MoU for Constrction of New Nuclear Power Plant

Pakistan and China have signed a Memorandum of Understanding for the development of the Chashma-5 Nuclear Power Plant.

Pakistan's Prime MinisterShehbaz Sharif will attend the Margalla Avenue inaugural ceremony.

During the previous PML-N regime, the Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission (PAEC) and the China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) signed an agreement to build an HPR1000 Hualong One reactor at the Chashma nuclear power facility.

The project sought to construct a one-million-kilowatt-class nuclear power unit using HPR1000 technology at the South Asian nation's Chashma Nuclear Power Plant.

Chashma, in the country's most populous region, is home to four Chinese-made CNP-300 aircraft.
