Pakistan and Türkiye Strengthen Defense Ties with Joint Naval Exercises in the Arabian Sea

The defense partnership between Pakistan and Türkiye has reached new heights following recent joint naval exercises conducted in the northern Arabian Sea. These collaborative drills marked a significant enhancement in the defense cooperation between the two nations.

The exercises, involving comprehensive patrols and maneuvers, focused on key areas such as defending against asymmetric threats, executing visit, board, search, and seizure (VBSS) operations, and conducting air defense practices. The primary objective of these activities was to refine the professional capabilities of both naval forces and to improve their operational interoperability.

The exercises followed a goodwill visit by the Turkish Navy ship TCG Kinaliada, during which a Turkish delegation led by Vice Admiral Ibrahim Özdem Kocer, the Turkish Navy Chief of Staff, engaged with Pakistan Navy field commanders. The discussions between the two sides covered various aspects of mutual interest and explored opportunities for deeper defense collaboration.

As part of their visit, the Turkish delegation paid tribute to Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah by laying a floral wreath at his mausoleum, reflecting their respect and appreciation for the founder of Pakistan.

The Pakistan Navy highlighted that this visit and the successful completion of the joint exercises underscore the enduring and friendly relations between Pakistan and Türkiye. This collaboration is viewed as a testament to the strong defense ties and mutual commitment between the two countries.

The joint naval exercises and the ongoing partnership signify a robust defense alliance and a shared dedication to regional stability and security.
