OnePlus has officially announced plans to introduce a new smartphone lineup named Turbo, putting an end to weeks of speculation that began in October. The confirmation came from Li Jie, President of OnePlus China, who revealed the new series on Weibo as part of the company’s 12th anniversary celebrations.

According to Li Jie, the Turbo lineup will inherit the performance-oriented DNA of OnePlus’ flagship smartphones while placing a greater emphasis on battery life and gaming performance. He noted that the series is designed to deliver a high-end gaming experience while making such performance accessible to a broader audience.

Li also highlighted OnePlus’ strong performance in the Chinese smartphone market, stating that the company expects to conclude 2025 with the highest year-over-year sales growth among smartphone brands in China. He claimed OnePlus recorded a 40 percent sales increase compared to 2024, underscoring growing consumer demand for performance-focused devices.

Looking ahead, Li said the Turbo lineup will play a key role in enhancing OnePlus’ gaming capabilities and expanding its user base. The new series is expected to target users who prioritize power efficiency, smooth gameplay, and fast charging.

Expected Specifications

Based on earlier leaks, the first smartphone in the OnePlus Turbo series is expected to feature a 6.7-inch OLED display with a 1.5K resolution and a 165Hz refresh rate, catering to high-frame-rate gaming and smooth scrolling.

The device is rumored to be powered by Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor, positioning it firmly in the flagship performance segment. It is also expected to pack a large 8,000mAh battery with support for 100W wired fast charging, emphasizing long battery life and quick top-ups.

In terms of photography, the smartphone is said to include a 50MP primary rear camera paired with an 8MP ultrawide sensor, offering a balanced camera setup alongside its performance-focused hardware.

More details, including pricing and launch timelines, are expected to be revealed closer to the official debut of the OnePlus Turbo series.
