The disqualification of PTI Chairman Imran Khan by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) in the Toshakahana reference infuriated former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi.

Imran Khan, the PTI chairman, was disqualified by the ECP on Friday in the Toshakhana reference. Additionally, the ECP ordered Imran to face criminal charges for false declaration.

Imran Khan was found to have produced a false affidavit and to have engaged in corrupt behavior, according to ECP’s reading of Article 63(1).

Speaking on a private TV channel, Khaqan Abbasi said that it was improper to take pleasure in making false claims and keeping secrets while serving as prime minister.

They didn’t want anyone to be barred from politics, he claimed.

“We don’t want anyone to be eliminated. Politics should be competitive on the ground, he said.

In reference to Nawaz Sharif’s removal from office in the Panamagate scandal, Abbasi claimed that the supreme court converted into a trial court and removed a prime minister on trivial allegations.

He criticized Imran Khan, saying he is destabilizing the country for his own sake. He said the PTI chief imprisoned his opponents without lodging any case.

Imran Khan was declared ineligible for office for five years by Pakistan’s highest electoral body, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), on Friday in the Toshakhana reference.

Pakistan’s top electoral authority, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), disqualified former prime minister Imran Khan for five years in the Toshakhana reference on Friday.
