No curb in petrol prices stirred disappointment in Pakistanis

On Wednesday, Pakistan’s government has decided that it won’t decrease the petrol rates in Pakistan. Nonetheless, the international market has made a slight decrement in the oil market rates. Two weeks into October, the petroleum prices in Pakistan are decided to remain the same. However, the prices of High-Speed Diesel will undergo a discount.

In the next fifteen days, Pakistani citizens will spend on HSD with a discount of Rupees 2.40 to 104.06 on every purchase. This announcement came from the Pakistan Finance Ministry on Wednesday. Furthermore, the news came from the PM’s office earlier that there would be an increment in the petrol prices for the coming fifteen days. This information came out on the same day before the decrease in the HSD rates was confirmed.
HSD has the most considerable share in the country’s economy. This fuel is brought into use by generators, machinery, and heavy vehicles.

However, in October, this fuel goes less in its demand. There occurs no actual usage of HSD in Oct as the agriculture sector doesn’t require it in bulk. Furthermore, for another month government has decided no reduction in the fuel prices. Consecutively, this decision led to significant disappointment coming from the people of Pakistan. Currently, the price of petrol is Rs103.97, that of kerosene oil is Rs103.97, and the cost concerning LDO is Rs62.86. It will remain the same before any further order or information comes along. Rural Areas of Pakistan majorly demand LDO as it aids in the operation of tube wells.

Simultaneously, OGRA has announced that petroleum fuel rates would go down during October’s first fortnight. There is a considerable concern by the hard earning Pakistani residents about the fuel charges not going down. No increment in pay and continuous uprise in the fuel and grocery provisions has made their lives go a tad more complicated.
