Imad Wasim Retires from International Cricket

In a significant moment for Pakistan cricket, all-rounder Imad Wasim has announced his retirement from international cricket. Known for his disciplined left-arm spin and reliable lower-order batting, Imad played a key role in Pakistan’s limited-overs successes over the last decade.

During his international career, Imad represented Pakistan in 55 ODIs, scoring 986 runs at an impressive average of nearly 43, and claiming 44 wickets. In T20Is, he featured in 75 matches, taking 73 wickets with a remarkable economy rate of 6.2 while contributing crucial runs with the bat. Imad’s ability to bowl effectively during power plays and finish games with the bat made him an indispensable part of Pakistan’s white-ball teams.

  • ODIs: 55 matches, 986 runs, Avg. 42.9, 5 fifties
  • T20Is: 75 matches, 554 runs, Avg. 15.8

Imad released an emotional statement to his fans, reflecting on his career:

“After much thought, I have decided to retire from international cricket. Representing Pakistan has been the greatest honor of my life, and every moment in the green jersey has been unforgettable. Your unwavering support has been my biggest strength. While this chapter ends, I look forward to continuing in domestic and franchise cricket to entertain you in new ways. Thank you for everything. Pakistan!”

While stepping away from international cricket, Imad will remain active in domestic and global T20 leagues, including the Pakistan Super League (PSL). His extensive experience and proven skills ensure he will continue to be a valued player in franchise tournaments worldwide.

Imad’s departure from international cricket marks the end of an era, but his contributions will be remembered, and his presence in the T20 circuit will keep his fans connected to his talent and spirit.
