Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reiterated the government’s commitment to facilitating international investors, particularly in the Information Technology sector, as Pakistan moves towards digital economic transformation.
The premier shared these remarks during a meeting with Kaan Terzioglu, CEO of VEON Group, in Islamabad.
Shehbaz Sharif emphasized that Pakistan is focused on ensuring transparency and efficiency through digitalization across economic sectors. He added that government departments are working collaboratively to enhance digital infrastructure, including the rollout of high-quality internet services following the upcoming 5G spectrum auction.
Highlighting the country’s potential, the prime minister noted that the growing interest of Pakistan’s youth in IT and telecom is drawing attention from global investors.
During the meeting, Kaan Terzioglu appreciated the government’s vision for a cashless economy and broader digital transformation. He also expressed VEON Group’s intention to expand its investment footprint in Pakistan’s digital and telecom sectors.
The discussion reflects Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to position itself as a competitive destination for global technology investments.
