PM Imran Khan said that the priority of the former rulers was not the people and foreign policies were made against the public interest.

Addressing a ceremony at Ministry of Foreign Affairs Islamabad on Tuesday, he said that the country suffered due to wrong decisions of the previous rulers.

Imran Khan said that after the OIC conference, the position of the whole world on Afghanistan is with us, adding that emerging human tragedy in Afghanistan requires immediate action and the world supports our position on Afghanistan. He called for immediate measures to avert humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan.

The prime minister said Pakistan’s image has significantly improved at the international level in last three years. He said now the OIC and the international community acknowledge Pakistan’s narrative.

PM Imran said, “Irrespective of liking and disliking of the Taliban rise in Afghanistan, the world should focus on the difficulties being faced by the 40 million people of Afghanistan.”

Khan went on to say that Pakistan can become a great country by focusing on self-belief. He said we have to correct our system, uphold meritocracy, and ensure rule of law to put Pakistan on the path of development and progress.

PM Imran also congratulated the Foreign Office for successfully conducting the 17th Extraordinary Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers  of OIC on last Sunday.

He urged the officers of the Foreign Ministry to shift their focus from geo-politics to geo-economics
