England Cricket Team to Arrive in Pakistan on October 2 for Three-Match Test Series

The England cricket team is set to land in Pakistan on October 2 for a three-match Test series, according to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). These matches are part of the World Test Championship cycle, with Pakistan eager for a much-needed victory at home.

The series will begin with the first Test in Multan from October 7 to 11, followed by the second match at the same venue from October 15 to 19. The final Test will be held in Rawalpindi from October 24 to 28.

Pakistan, currently ranked eighth in the World Test Championship standings, has struggled at home, with their last Test victory on Pakistani soil dating back to February 2021 when they defeated South Africa in Rawalpindi. After a disappointing home series loss to Bangladesh, Pakistan is looking to reverse their fortunes.

Pakistan’s squad, led by captain Shan Masood, will assemble in Multan on October 1 for training. Masood is scheduled to address the media at the National Bank Stadium on September 30.

The series is crucial for Pakistan, whose recent performances have drawn criticism from fans and experts. Concerns have been raised about the quality of pitches, infrastructure, and frequent changes in the PCB’s management. Pakistan’s busy cricket schedule continues after the series, with upcoming matches against Australia, Zimbabwe, South Africa, and the West Indies.

Pakistan Squad: Shan Masood (captain), Saud Shakeel (vice-captain), Aamir Jamal, Abdullah Shafique, Abrar Ahmed, Babar Azam, Mir Hamza, Mohammad Huraira, Mohammad Rizwan (wicket-keeper), Naseem Shah, Noman Ali, Saim Ayub, Salman Ali Agha, Sarfaraz Ahmed (wicket-keeper), Shaheen Shah Afridi, Zahid Mehmood.

England Squad: Ben Stokes (captain), Rehan Ahmed, Gus Atkinson, Shoaib Bashir, Harry Brook, Brydon Carse, Jordan Cox, Zak Crawley, Ben Duckett, Jack Leach, Ollie Pope, Matthew Potts, Joe Root, Jamie Smith, Olly Stone, Chris Woakes.
