A Pakistani expat working in Dubai caught people’s attention on social media for his act of kindness. Recently, he received a phone call from Dubai’s Crown Prince who thanked him for his altruistic action.

Abdul Ghafoor, a Pakistani national working as a delivery rider for Food Hero-owned Talabat in Dubai, observed two heavy concrete blocks in the middle of a busy road in Dubai’s Al-Quoz neighborhood a few weeks ago.

Abdul Ghafoor quickly parked his bike by the side of the road and started to remove the blocks from the busy intersection. Another citizen filmed Abdul Ghafoor from his car as Abdul Ghafoor waited for the cars and trucks to go by so he could remove the blocks.

The resident distributed the footage of Abdul Ghafoor across various social media channels and it quickly gained popularity. The video also caught the attention of Dubai’s Crown Prince, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum.

The Prince initially shared the video on his official Instagram account and asked his over 14 million followers to help in identifying the man, who happened to be Abdul Ghafoor, with the following caption: An act of goodness in Dubai to be praised. Can someone point me to this man?

Within minutes of Sheikh Hamdan sharing the video, Dubai Police located Abdul Ghafoor and confirmed his contact details, informing him that the Crown Prince of Dubai wants to speak to him.

Once the Prince got the details of the Pakistani national from Dubai Police, Sheikh Hamdan personally called Abdul Ghafoor to thank him for his selfless work.

After establishing contact with Abdul Ghafoor, Sheikh Hamdan shared Abdul Ghafoor’s photo with the following caption: The good man has been found. Thank you, Abdul Ghafoor, you are one of a kind. We will meet soon!

Speaking in this regard, Abdul Ghafoor said that Sheikh Hamdan thanked him and told him that he is currently out of the country and will meet him after coming back.

When the Dubai Police informed Abdul Ghafoor that the Crown Prince wishes to speak with him, Ghafoor stated he was unable to believe what he was hearing. He is still in disbelief that the Prince addressed a common like him. According to Abdul Ghafoor, Sheikh Hamdan is a very excellent leader.

The occurrence was also referred to be “heartwarming” by Abdul Ghafoor’s employer, Talabat, who also expressed gratitude to the citizen for filming one of their delivery riders.

Additionally, Abdul Ghafoor will receive appropriate compensation for his noble service, according to Talabat. For Abdul Ghafoor to be able to see his 2-year-old kid, the firm has also given him a return ticket.
