Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar convened an inter-ministerial meeting on Friday to evaluate the progress of health sector collaboration between Pakistan and Indonesia. This meeting followed the visit of Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto to Pakistan on December 8-9, 2025.
Review of Health Sector Collaboration
The session focused on assessing current initiatives and identifying new opportunities to enhance the health sector collaboration. Deputy PM Dar highlighted the importance of expanding and deepening the partnership with Indonesia in this vital sector.
Participants and Key Discussions
The meeting included the Minister for Health, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Bajwa, and senior officials from several ministries and organizations such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination (NHSR&C), Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC), Overseas Employment Corporation (OEC), and the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development (OP&HRD).
Officials deliberated on ways to strengthen cooperation and explore new avenues for collaboration in health services, regulation, and workforce development between the two countries.
