To address the severe lack of medical personnel in public health institutions across the province, the Punjab government gave the health department permission to make ad hoc appointments of doctors and paramedics.

After receiving a summary in this regard from the health authorities, Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi relaxed the prohibition on ad hoc employment for doctors and nurses.

The announcement states that both Specialized Healthcare and Primary Health are allowed to fill open positions for doctors and paramedics as needed.

The Punjab government made the decision to include more hospitals in the panel yesterday in order to provide Sehat Insaf Card holders with accessibility to standard medical care.

Following a conference called by Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, it was determined to strengthen the Health Card program’s extension.

In order to better serve the residents of the province, the meeting approved adding more hospitals to the health card panel. The cyberknife, a cutting-edge surgical technique, was also approved for inclusion in the health card program at the conference.

Earlier in July, Punjab CM Pervaiz Elahi decided to further expand health card scheme, launched by former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan.
