DOHA: First Lady Bibi Aseefa Bhutto Zardari and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari held a meeting with Mohammad Saif Al-Sowaidi, Chief Executive Officer of the Qatar Investment Authority (QIA), in Doha to discuss avenues for expanding economic cooperation between Pakistan and Qatar.
According to the media wing of the President of Pakistan, the meeting focused on enhancing bilateral investment partnerships in key sectors including energy, infrastructure, and technology.
The First Lady appreciated QIA’s growing investment portfolio in Pakistan and welcomed Qatar’s interest in expanding projects that promote sustainable development and generate employment opportunities.
Al-Sowaidi reaffirmed QIA’s commitment to strengthening economic ties with Pakistan, expressing readiness to explore new opportunities for collaboration between the two countries.
Aseefa and Bilawal accompanied President Asif Ali Zardari during his three-day visit to Doha from November 4 to 6 to attend the World Summit for Social Development, which brought together global leaders to renew commitments toward the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
During his visit, President Zardari also held discussions with Qatari leadership on enhancing cooperation in investment, defence, agriculture, and food security.
Senior Qatari officials and Pakistan’s Ambassador to Qatar bid farewell to President Zardari and his delegation at Doha International Airport at the conclusion of the visit.
