KARACHI — Domestic gold prices in Pakistan edged upward on Monday, reflecting a steady global rally as safe-haven demand keeps international bullion markets buoyant.

According to data released by the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), the price of 24-karat gold rose by Rs300 per tola, settling at Rs424,536.

Daily Market Breakdown

The modest price bump was mirrored across different weights and purity tiers in the local bullion market:

10-Gram Rate: The price of 10-gram 24-karat gold witnessed a gain of Rs258, closing the day’s trading at Rs363,971.

22-Karat Gold: The price for the 22-karat jewelry standard was quoted higher at Rs333,652 per 10 grams.

Silver Movement: Domestic silver prices also posted positive traction. 24-karat silver climbed by Rs107 to reach Rs6,177 per tola, while its 10-gram counterpart closed at Rs5,295 (up by Rs91).

International Factors and Context

Local traders indicated that the marginal spike in Pakistan’s commodity market directly reflects shifting global dynamics.

Global Spot Check: In the international bullion market, spot gold traded up by approximately $25.30 (or 0.63%), hovering near $4,020 per ounce (inclusive of local import premiums).

Market analysts attribute the ongoing historic highs in precious metals to global macroeconomic factors, including fluctuating US Treasury yields, persistent geopolitical uncertainties in the Middle East, and investors actively hedging against currency inflation. Local price adjustments remain highly sensitive to these global spot fluctuations alongside the day-to-day stability of the Pakistani Rupee.
