A plane from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) bringing supplies for Pakistan’s flood victims landed at Nur Khan Airbase in Rawalpindi on Sunday in response to a request from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

Tents, food, medication, and other necessities are included in the relief supplies. At the airport, Ahsan Iqbal, the planning minister and UAE ambassador to Pakistan, accepted the aid supplies.

It is important to note that, at the request of UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, 15 additional planes carrying aid will land in Pakistan in the upcoming days.

In a phone call to Pakistani Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday, UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed expressed his sincere sympathies for the loss of precious lives brought on by torrential rains and flash floods in several regions of Pakistan.

The president of the UAE wished all those injured a speedy recovery and conveyed his everlasting solidarity with the people of Pakistan during this trying moment.

In order to help Pakistan deal with this natural disaster, he offered every assistance he could. He informed the Prime Minister that the UAE will be delivering food supplies, medical and pharmaceutical supplies, tents, and other shelter items right now.

Death toll mounts 1000

According to data issued on Sunday by Pakistan’s National Disaster Management Authority, the number of people who have died as a result of monsoon flooding since June has risen to 1,033.

According to the report, 119 people had died in the preceding 24 hours as the nation’s severe rains continued in some areas.

The Indian subcontinent’s yearly monsoon is necessary for irrigating crops and replenishing lakes and dams, but it also brings a wave of destruction each year.
