This follows after overnight showers which have caused some areas of the city, including DHA and Clifton, to be flooded. This has ruined the Eid-ul-Azha celebrations for many Karachiites.

Sardar Sarfraz, Chief Meteorologist, stated that the city is likely to experience intermittent light to moderate rain throughout the day due to a low-pressure system present over the Arabian Sea.

The PMD official added that Thatta, Badin, Hyderabad and Mirpurkhas will also be affected.

He noted that cloudbursts cannot be predicted, and added that the current spell could weaken by July 13.

According to Sadar Sarfaraz, light rain is expected in the city on July 12 and 13, with another “strong” monsoon system likely to enter Karachi from July 14. Meanwhile, rescue sources have reported that two people have died of electrocution in the Garden area and one in Korangi’s Bilal Colony.

The heavy rainfall has once again exposed the city’s drainage system and the Sindh government’s claims regarding its rain emergency plans, with several main roads and streets completely flooded.

The city’s affluent areas, including DHA and Clifton, were inundated after heavy rains Causes water to enter homes, with the public criticizing officials for their negligence That has ruined their Eid celebrations.

As a result of the torrential rains, the Karachi Traffic Police have announced the closure of several roads in the metropolis due to flooding.

Shahrah-e-Faisal and Dalmia Road are both closed to traffic, with several feet of water accumulated at different points. Baloch Colony bridge has also been blocked off, preventing any vehicular movement.
