7 barbers shot dead in Gwadar

According to the reports of the police officials, these men were shot in their residential areas. The gunmen are unknown and unidentified. SSP Zohaib Mohsin reported that the incident took place at 3am.The gunmen entered the residential area and shot the victims while they were sleeping. Other than the death of 7 individuals, 1 was also severely injured. The deceased belonged to Khanewal and Lodhran districts whereas the injured person was from Mian Channu, Khanewal. SSP Zohaib Mohsin reported that the incident took place at 3am.

A senior police Official, Muhammad Mohsin stated, “We are investigating the matter at the moment but apparently it looks like they were attacked because they were Punjabis.” However, no further details about the case have been disclosed. As per investigation protocols, the area is cordoned off to examine further. The injured person and the deceased were immediately sent to Gwadar Hospital. The bodies were then transported to their native areas via ambulances and the injured person to Karachi after receiving treatment.  

Statements from Officials

Prime Minister Shahbaz sharif issued a statement expressing his solidarity to the family of the victims and condemning this act of violence, “This incident of terrorism is a cowardly act of the enemies of the country. We are determined to eradicate terrorism from its roots,” Interior minister Mohsin Naqvi also stated, “The beasts who play with the lives of the innocent don’t deserve to be called humans”.

Balochistan Home minister Mir Zia Ullah Langau emphasised that strict action will be taken against these terrorists. He said that the incident will be reviewed from all aspects and justice will be served to those who suffered. Balochistan government including Balochistan Chief minister Sarfaraz Bugti also labelled the incident as “open terrorism”. Statements from the officials of Balochistan signifies the stern action that they are going to take against these instigators.
