In a thrilling encounter of Big Bash League (BBL) 15, Zaman Khan’s composed bowling in the final over helped Brisbane Heat clinch a narrow three-run victory over Hobart Hurricanes in Hobart, Australia.

Final Over Drama

The Hurricanes needed six runs to win off the last over, but Zaman Khan, the right-arm pacer, held his nerve under immense pressure. He started the over with a dot ball, then conceded a single. The next two deliveries were dot balls, followed by a wicket on the fifth ball. The final delivery yielded just a single, resulting in an over sequence of “dot, single, dot, dot, wicket, single.”

Match Highlights

  • Brisbane Heat set a target of 161 runs, finishing at 160 for 8 in their 20 overs.
  • Nathan McSweeney was the top scorer for Heat with 49 runs off 32 balls, supported by Matt Renshaw’s 37 off 25.
  • For the Hurricanes, Riley Meredith took three wickets, while Rishad Hossain and Nathan Ellis claimed two wickets each.
  • Chasing 161, the Hurricanes ended on 157 for 8 in their 20 overs.
  • Ben McDermott led the Hurricanes with 59 runs off 36 balls, and Beau Webster contributed 51 off 43 deliveries.
  • Brisbane Heat’s bowling attack was bolstered by Xavier Bartlett’s three wickets and Matthew Kuhnemann’s two, with Zaman Khan, Michael Neser, and Marnus Labuschagne each taking one wicket.

Zaman Khan’s composed final over proved decisive in securing the Heat’s victory in this closely contested BBL 15 match.
