Pakistan’s top wrestler, Zaman Anwar nicknamed Jani Pehalwan, won his first Rustam-e-Pakistan title on Sunday when he slammed Asif Mochi at the Punjab Stadium.

Zaman, a silver medalist at the Commonwealth Games last year, made his ambition come true with his newest achievement. No freestyle wrestler could take on the opponent.

The title fight lasted nearly 30 minutes because no participant was able to pit against the other; yet, Zaman was proclaimed the winner on points.

As soon as Zaman was proclaimed the winner, his aides carried him onto their shoulders and led him around the stadium. The new Rustam-e-Pakistan, who shared his thoughts, called Sunday’s event “tough” and thanked Asif for his perseverance.
