Emaan Danish, a young social activist, has created Pakistan’s first-ever eco-friendly doll. ‘Fizza,’ she called it.

Emaan Danish, a student from Karachi, Pakistan, and a young social entrepreneur hope to improve climate change awareness among children by creating an environmentally friendly doll.

Emaan recently spoke about her work and how it countered global climate change risks. “Over 83 billion tons of plastic have been manufactured globally since 1950, with 91 percent of that being non-recyclable,” she said. “Moreover, it takes over 5000 years for plastic to decompose.”

Emaan went on to discuss the negative consequences of plastic waste in the sea, which causes irreversible damage to marine life.

“I’ve always adored dolls and dressed my first plastic doll in a shalwar kameez for a Pakistani appearance,” Emaan said of the idea.

Emaan also stated that she wanted to reevaluate her doll usage after learning about the negative effects of plastic in school. “At first, I planned to recycle the old components to reduce plastic waste,” she explained. “But then I considered fully eliminating plastic.”

Emaan then came up with the idea of a plastic-free doll, which he created out of cotton and cloth and named ‘Fizza.’

Emaan Danish, the world’s youngest climate activist and ‘ecopreneur,’ is a 10-year-old fourth-grader.
